Worshipping the Giants of Tyranny

Take your pick – photos or slideshow. Note the placement of “in God we trust.” Happy, smiling, hugging. The intent of the photographs, of course, is to show that the ultra-wealthy, totalitarian thieves who lord over us are just regular old, back-slapping folks akin to God. This is the happy cabinet.

Note the fasces in the photo above. Glenn Jacobs (Kane) went through the slide show (I linked this on LewRockwell.com yesterday) and pointed out this particular photo to me. Fasces consist of bundled rods usually accompanied by an axe, a symbol of authority and power over life and death. How very appropriate. Reminiscent of imperial Rome. Mussolini’s Fascist Party also used fasces on its flags. So I went to Wikipedia to find out where else the U.S. imperial government might use fasces. See halfway down under “The Fasces in the United States.”

Fasces???…geez, looks like I should get my eyes tested for all I see is FECES…aren’t those faces portrayed those who are pushing crap into the history books replete with sniff and smell stamps for collectors. Is this a website where Pelosi is marketing a truly remarkable tee shirt?

It looks like the fasces in the foto… I mean, photo are wrapped in olive branches. I guess that’s like the carrot and the stick. Do what America wants, and you’l get lots of money. Fail to do so, and you’ll get bombed.

When I first saw the word “fasces” I thought you were referring to the 3 people in the photo and you had fat-fingered your keyboard. The “e” is very close to the “a” and the “s”, ya know. But I guess it is appropriate that the two terms look so similar.

Glad you put this up Karen. I had a lively email exchange with a friend over this symbol earlier this year. When one digs into the history of such symbols, it can be rather sobering to learn the origins and representations. Those sticks (yes, sticks) with the axeheads represent a diametric opposition to everything individual liberty stands for. Anyone who doubts it has their head buried in the sand.

“Do what America wants, and you’l get lots of money. Fail to do so, and you’ll get bombed.” This applies equally to us peon helot citizens too.

You will, of course, also find the fasces on the front of both sides of the chair that ol’ uncle Abe sits in at the Lincoln Memorial.
But, of course, all readers here have been to the WikiPedia site and already know that … but just-in-case:
