Why You Need a Divorce from the Medical Establishment

A freedom fighter friend, whose family stays self-sufficient and as independent of the establishment as possible, writes me with this amazing story. The crux of the story is that his family had to move from a midwife to a home midwife in order to defy the conventional wisdom and standard medical protocol:

A few years ago, when we were pregnant with our first child, we were seeing a midwife in a hospital just across the river in a neighboring state (the state where I live bans midwives, yep… too little space to comment on the idea that government can dictate where and how you have your kids…).

It went okay; us refusing various suggested treatments, tests, and generally she was accommodating… until the glucose test.

Take a pregnant women, force her to FAST 12 hours or so, and then have her drink a complete synthetic concoction of 8 ounces or so of processed sugar/glucose and see what effect it has on insulin and other levels to see if she has pre-gestational diabetes.

I asked our midwife why this test and why this way (with the complete processed, expensive big pharma beverage)?  “Because that is the way it is.”  Then I point out my wife shows no other signs or symptoms of having gestational diabetes, nor has any history of it in her family or any related conditions, and that doing this to a pregnant woman’s body certainly seems like a good way to GIVE them such a condition or cause another health problem for mom or baby.

“Sorry, its policy.  You have to do the test.” “Even though the test is bad for my wife and baby.” Silence.

We switched to a home birth midwife.  One of the best decisions of our life – had three now at home, and each one has been a precious, low stress, and (way more so than a hospital birth) enjoyable experience, albeit a lot of work for my wife, but at least in a relaxed, loving, and safe place.

A few weeks later we received a letter from the other midwife’s office that “they do not recognize homebirth” and we had been fired as patients.  They wouldn’t even provide side along care just in case we actually needed their medical assistance for a real medical condition.  Guess they are too busy and profitable creating and treating psuedo-conditions created by their practices and policies.

Our one daughter was once labeled as a “biohazard” by a hospital because she had not been placed under their McMuffin lights soon after birth and inspected by their office of baby compliance.

This isn’t medical care, it is madness.

My comment: It may be madness, but wait until post-2014 when the madness steps up to become targeted tyranny against any and all individuals who deny the standard medical protocols that are the result of “research-based” medicine. Yes, the same “research” that has given us the federal food pyramid, genetically modified organisms in our food, subsidized Big Agra, three decades of increasing obesity, and the ever profitable Big Cancer, etc.

ObamaCare has already commenced, indeed, but still, we have not yet begun to see it carried out to the levels of tyranny that will occur with time, as the central planners become better equipped to further collectivize medical care and drive out independent thinking and self-directed medical decisions.

After that ignorant original midwife tried to get a loved one to consume that crap, I’d have fired her before she and her handlers had the time to deny me service. I don’t understand why he continued patronizing them. (Well, I’d first tell the first midwife WHY I was shopping elsewhere so that she would have the opportunity to learn from her mistake and improve the market.)

As far as these top-down edicts getting worse in the future because of Obamacare? C’mon, now….we all know that Mitt Romney and the “small government” Republicans are going to fix that, right? Isn’t that what our good friends in the mainstream media tell us, that Republicans shrink government?

Off-topic but on a note related to self-motivated health and wellness: Here are two videos that should be of interest to men everywhere regarding internet pornography and how destructive it is:

    TED Talk:
    http://youtu.be/wSF82AwSDiU
    Testimonial:

I hope that readers will share this with their family members….especially for those of us who are Christian (I’m Catholic) and so we have family members who are very trusting and they believe pop science and mainstream media reports declaring porn healthy (and even “natural”). I believe that quitting internet porn can be as helpful to men as switching from the food pyramid to paleo.

Hi Karen. I found that approximately 88% of the folks that are responsible for writing Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) receive some sort of benefit from third parties, especially pharmaceutical companies. That does not bode well for health. In fact, it is the main reason that the ADA still promulgates guidelines that include a diet of 45%-55% carbohydrates for diabetics. Nevertheless, there are doctors out there that do not follow the biased guidelines and are available for consultation when needed. Thus, I do not throw out the baby with the bathwater, as I still need at least long-acting insulin to survive, and, yes, a prescription from an doctor to get the insulin. There are many other examples of still needing doctors.

Great article and thanks for the ideas… – lc

As I said in a previous response tonight, your doctor today is not your grandpappy’s doctor. Just this year I had to fire two doctors…a husband and wife team/dentists/Harvard grads working here in my town. They did the same treatment three diff times billing me anew each time. When I confronted them on why I was billed three diff times for the same thing, I got the run around. Learning all to late how to smell a rat a mile away, I promptly sent them a letter telling them why I’d no longer be their patient. I have since learned from a friend whose husband passed away this past year, that he too, fired these same doctors for the same crooked trick.

In March I had two cataract surgeries which I was expected to put drops in my eyes for a week before surgery and a few weeks after surgery. Doing my due diligence of researching said (3) diff eyedrops, I quickly learned that the FDA does not check ANY eyedrops, meaning any quack could bottle piss in a bottle and you’d be squirting it in your eyeballs. In fact, I found that one of the drops had beaucoup lawsuits for its harming the eyes of many elderly folks…simple little problems like mold forming on the eyeball. I printed out a hardcopy for my eye doc and showed it to him and told him in no uncertain terms it would be a cold day in hell I’d use them in my eyes. He didn’t even bother to read the printout I brought into him, but merely and quickly told me, “oh, you don’t have to take them anymore”.

Can’t tell me he didn’t know the FDA does not approve of these, but I can tell you this..those three little suckers (tiny bottles with max of 1 tablespn of drops in each) cost a total of $450..what a scam….crazy part is that upon talking to other seniors who have had cataract surgery in recent years is that some of them NEVER even had to take drops…which just goes to show how BIG Pharma has so many doctors by the ying yang today. I am sure each rx he writes out he gets some kind of kickback.

Then there is the doctor strangelove story…like the ob/gyn I went to 4 years ago to get a female checkup as my regular GP doesn’t do female cks. So this ob/gyn tells me “I don’t know what you are doing, but whatever it is, just keep on doing it”. He added, “I don’t believe you are the age you claim to be for you’re in too good of shape”. He asked me to come back in three months for another check up…which like an obedient dummy I did.
Only to be told the same thing all over again…praise for my good health. And then again, ‘come back in another three months’…come three months and I”m thinking, “what in the hell is going on here..he tells me I am in great shape, keep doing whatever I’m doing..and yet come back again”.
I called a couple days before and cancelled that appt for this doctor was beginning to give me the creeps..something a tad absurd about an ob/gyn wanting to check you out 3 x when he says you are in fantastic shape.

He too lost a patient..that was four years ago and I will NEVER return there. On another note, I know of many seniors rushing to get hip or knee jobs now for they fear what is coming up the pike with obama no care. I also know of a couple docs leaving their profession for they detest what is coming about. One is a cardiac female surgeon who will step down to become a cardiac nurse..tired of 80 hr weeks and the fact that all doctors will be paid equally, regardless of their specialty. My eye doctor hates the guy in charge of this health program and I think he is trying to make major buckage now before they put into practice the equal pay BS for all doctors. My eye doc pays much more money for specialized equipment than the regular doctors have to put out for their practices. I cannot imagine what a nightmare this healthcare program will be when it really takes off. I could write a book on just what I have witnessed in nursing homes for 4 years now taking dinner each night to my man left paralyzed by surgery in ’08.
We finally have  him in an independent living situation whereby he has his own room, large at that and he is loving that. But we still find that there is massive theft going on at all these places…it isn’t good being elderly today as there are so many entitlement mentalities and too many that are missing a moral compass to guide them in their lives.

I had a baby last year and this happened to me too!! I had nothing wrong with me, but apparently I had gestational diabetes… they told me how to eat what the governement thought my blood sugar should be… interestingly enough 11 years ago those blood sugar levels changed dramatically… anyway, basically, I couldn’t eat anything in the morning except oatmeal as I had morning sickness so bad… needless to say they told me that plain oatmeal was spiking my blood sugar (according to my little blood sugar machine it wasn’t) and I was hurting my baby. I asked them how that could possibly be, they couldn’t give me an answer… so they put me on glyburide. My blood sugar dropped down to 40 and I almost passed out, I had to have my son call my husband as we were at a park and i couldn’t drive because I was blacking out. It’s all bogus and I think it is just another way for big government to make money…
