Gosh, Jeannie, that's mind-bogglingly awful. And unfortunately, I fear you're right about pedophilia, and probably a whole bunch more "philias" out there we don't yet, thankfully, know about.

The whole PC crap is likely part of the equation in the Ft. Hood massacre.

Not so long ago, if someone behaved in some nasty way, people used to be intolerant. Now people flaunt their perversions on TV and elsewhere.

I'd bet that the Obamas don't expose their daughters to the nasty crap this education Czar is espousing - but I could lose that bet...

Terry,

It is true that our kids are being taught diversity at any cost, and for any deviation from the norm. I wouldn't be surprised that someday we'll be expected to respect pedophilia.
Actually that may not be far off considering the czar Obama chose as his 'safe school' czar, Kevin Jennings. What he has proposed to teach school kids is the ultimate creepiness. The Jennings-founded GLSEN recommends books to children that include "explicit descriptions of sex acts between preschoolers; promoting child-adult sexual relationships; stories of public masturbation, anal sex in restrooms, affairs between students and teachers, five-year-olds playing sex games". And this is coming from a SAFE SCHOOL czar...god help us if he was an unsafe schoolCzar!

As he wants kids to discuss the virtues of 'spit or swallow', and 'fisting' for fairies, I think he should be given the choice to 'swallow' poison, but not before getting someone's big 'fist' in his face for wanting to totally corrupt the nation's youth. The Washington Times had an editorial on this major creep and it sounds like many folks think the diversity/equality thing has dipped to new lows...here's hoping they kick the sick depraved bastard out of his czardom. Hard to believe that neither Obama or Emanuel didn't know freako's resume. Wonder if O or Michelle read this trash for nighty night reading with Malia
or Sasha. If not, why do they feel it is good for the rest of the nation's youth? Ck out this disturbing news

I should have mentioned that diverse groups bring different talents to the table. It's not being disrespectful in my view to understand that others may be different, and to treat them with respect - if they deserve respect, but to understand that they're different. It's just a fact. But one can't have it both ways. If a thing is "tolerated" among one group of a different race, the same thing should be tolerated by a different race.

I remember an article that Karen posted a while back that mentioned that some people can find something to complain about no matter the issue. Something along the lines of people being incensed, and complaining about just about anything.

Maybe some of these "respect diversity" people have too much time on their hands. The should feel blessed that they have so few problems that they have the time to create issues to whine and complain about.

"Tolerance" and diversity training is utter bullshit. College students are taught to "tolerate" anything - no matter how repugnant. I respect being intolerant. Where would civilization be if every perversion was "tolerated?" Where should the line be drawn? Respect the diversity of the pedophile? That's likely coming.

I remember when the USA was called the " melting pot." That's not diversity - that people conforming with, or fitting in with, the country they live in, or have migrated to. Move to Mexico and expect everyone to speak English. See how that works out for ya.

It should be noted that the "N" word can be used as a term of affection by people with the correct amount of melanin in their skin. Utter that phrase with too light of a skin color and you'll get your ass kicked, killed, or kicked out of school. How is bullshit like that respecting diversity?

Some people as a race have talents that others don't possess. It's stupidity to act as if that's not the case.

Yes, Ms De Coster, he was that!! I loved him dearly!! " Eminent Domain " took his house and thousands of others and demolished them for " Boston's Inner Belt Roadway "!!

If you travel to Boston and look for the Inner Belt Roadway; you will never find it because it was never ever built. The land that my Grandfathers house sat upon remained vacant for more than 30 years. Trust in government officials is not something I never expect to ever experience!!

When I first started going to public school I had a really rough time because I did not feel " inferior " to anyone, nor did I understand the prevailing " Biases of the Day "!!

My Grandfather lectured me one evening that I can not do anything about the weather, nor can I do anything about what other people are thinking nor can I do anything about the hate that is inside anyone. He told me that nothing anyone thought about me had anything at all to do with who I am inside and what God thinks of me.

He advised me how it was a waste of time trying to convince anyone that their Racial Biases had very little to do with reality. He told me my " job " was to go to scholl and learn all that I could because I was there for an education and not anything else!!

He also told me that no one calls you names or even confronts you when you are are the " Honor Roll " and they are not. He was absolutely correct!!

So I put up with crap while I was in school and consentrated on learning. My history teachers always had problems with me because I learned more from my family and the library than I did from them and teachers do not like to be corrected by their pupils.

I also discovered that if I bided my time the bullies might run into me, one on one, without any witnesses around.

Peoples conceptions and attitudes usually end up hindering who they are as " Human Beings "!! When a person grows up they realize that sex, skin color, religion, etc. etc. are Not the Indicators of who and what each of us truely are!!!

Of course, colleges are only responding to incentives. They are rewarded for racial diversity among students of humanities (perhaps because achievements in humanities can't be measured), but rewarded for victories on the playing field. Appearances matter in humanities; abilities matter in sport.

I can't help but think of Edwin Moses, who triumphed both in physics and in athletics.

For me, the final word on equality of results vs. equality of opportunity is Kurt Vonnegut's immortal short story:

If you haven't read it, you're in for a treat!
