The International Swine Flu Conference is being held in Washington D.C. next week, just two weeks after the conference on weight control that I wrote about last week. Here’s a summary of it:

Top leaders and key decision-makers of major companies representing a broad range of industries will meet with distinguished scientists, public health officials, law enforcers, first responders, and other experts to discuss pandemic prevention, preparedness, response and recovery at the 1st International Swine Flu Summit.

Read the agenda for the breakout sessions, especially the session on “psychological issues” (Session #2) and the topic heading: “Unwillingness to follow government orders.” Also note session #6, which includes “Control and diffuse social unrest & public disorder” and “Isolate prisons and other facilities.”

A few additional lines from the conference flyer:

    >Manage interruptions in food, fuel & essentials supply chains
    & establish stockpiles.
    >Protect police forces from falling ill & from being hurt in civil
    >Protect fire department first responders from falling ill &
from being hurt in civil disturbances.
    >Manage a surge in crime & meet routine
    requests at the same time.
    >Control & diffuse social unrest & public disorder.
    >Effectively undertake mass vaccinations.
    >Enforce quarantines.
    >Protect public works first responders from falling ill or being hurt
    in civil disturbances.
    >Control traffic, evacuation & mass transportation.
    >Ensure that frequent, honest & reliable information is
    released to the public.
    >Prioritize the use of antivirals for the essential workforce.

It would be interesting to read the white papers from this conference to see what specifics are discussed…..The above referenced points allude to much more than the text alone.

“Unwillingness to follow orders” are they talkin’ about us again? Don’t they ever get tired of that? Their lust to do a national, “lock-down” is so Escape From New York -ish, I don’t see how others can see that as, a good thing? Then I read this and had an ah-ha moment: The Mad Doctors. – The Road to Malpsychia: Humanistic Psychology and Our Discontents – book review

Some South American countries are chipping in together to buy the vaccine, do you suppose they too will force it on their populations? There is seemingly next to no ability for the population in general to resist (no ammo over 9mm, widely accepted practice of registration of weapons) and it appears like their people follow orders, unlike here?:
UNASUR members agree to buy vaccines together

I wonder if all the South American countries have storm troopers like in this photo from Peru:

Do you think this study will receive any airtime here?:
‘Children should not be given Tamiflu,’ UK study

It’s looking more and more like there is no escape from the needle pushing bureaucrat backed up by the military, although I did notice Fiji has no real government at the moment, the military not being any better though. Not being close to a medical facility is not important to everyone, to some, that’s a good thing.

As much as I know how bad bureaucrats can abuse power within governments,I still find it difficult to accept that there will be military men with guns breaking down my door at 3am who will grab me,taze me if necessary in order to administer a vaccine. I am one of those former Marines who like military style weapons who would be one of their “recalcitrant patients”.There are millions like me which makes it seem unrealistic that this would unfold without full blown civil war.
Some will say “that’s their objective”,I doubt it because almost all control is lost and the lives of the “leaders” who instigated this mess would be in peril. My bottom line is this:NO VACCINE,NO LEAVING MY HOME FOR “QUARANTINE”IN SOME FEMA CAMP AND NO GIVING UP MY GUNS.

Dave — your rules are the right rules.

I think Dave is on to something important. The enforcers are not (yet) radicalized, totalitarian soldiers imbued with the required espirit de corps to take on an armed and ornery population. Yes, various local police love to rumble around in their Fed-funded armored personnel carriers, and stomp around in their black BDUs, but they are accustomed to strong-arming unarmed, or lightly armed, citizens. But even a squad of properly trained soldiers, adequately armed, would rout them. It’s very likely that, should push comes to shove, police will quickly adopt the very same “search and avoid” tactic that American patrols employ in Iraq. No use getting oneself killed in an immoral, unwinnable Fourth Generation war.

I’ve never noodled for big fish, it’s insane if you ask me. Instead, I use a fishing pole and lay a bait outside the hole and reel them in when they leave their hole. I imagine the flu shot will be like The Drug War, no employment without proof of having had the shot. The Obamatron’s who support The Drug War will likely accept and support a mandatory insurance program that both drug tests the population as well as requires proof of the flu shot to be a member of. Those who choose not too, face the, isn’t it 2.5% of your income, fine and probably a loss of your drivers license. The military troops would be used to help man and set up DUI/drug/seatbelt/drivers license/safety/flu shot compliance roadblocks between your house and the grocery store/framers markets. They’ll get you (us) when you come out of your hole. When people start walking to avoid the roadblocks, they’ll start asking for your papers please. Unless,… unless what? Unless We resist, and the we becomes more than the they. Is that what they always feared might happen in Iraq, if the two main religious groups united – Gandhi style? Lately I’ve noticed the automatic sliding doors to some bigger stores take awhile to open so I stand there for a few brief seconds wondering IF the doors will even open and let me in. Amusingly I wonder, am I too ugly/dirty/clothes-out-of-style to come in? This is where I could see the Obamatron’s mandatory health policies result in the mandatory requirement of a card of some type needing to be swiped to gain entry to the store. Of course, that would never happen here,… right?
