I’ve always been fascinated by Everest, and the superhumans that traverse it. I’ve been mountain biking at 12,000-13,000 feet, climbing up three-hour climbs, where everyday body functions go awry due to altitude sickness, your head feels like it is full of helium, and you feel like your lungs are sucking all of your air out of a sky that’s the size of a sandwich baggie. I can’t imagine what it’s like at 29,000 feet high. A blind man now knows that feeling. What an incredible feat.
