Tom Woods Spotted in Loincloth; Talks Kansas City Into Going Caveman?

It is said that Tom Woods was seen in the state of Kansas, somewhere near Topeka, running wild with a loincloth and a club, chewing on a beef bone and sucking out the marrow. Is going paleo-primal sweeping Kansas? Even a cardiologist speaks up in favor of the real food/caveman food lifestyle.

I watched that mainstream media news report, and I definitely think it’s great to enlighten people. However, I did have one significant problem with it: everybody saying, “No sugar.” “No grains.” “No this.” “No that.”

The sneering comeback to that is perfectly obvious: “So no fun.” And they’re right.

I’m a firm believer in Mark Sisson’s 80/20 philosophy, and I think that I’m also living proof that it’s correct: it’s perfectly fine to deviate from rules here and there. Heck, when I go see a movie, the crap I ingest would probably make most paleo people set 100 yards as the minimum safe distance from me. But then I just make sure to fast and eat especially healthy in the next couple of days.

More significantly, making something forbidden just gives it the “forbidden fruit effect”, and makes you want it even more. I almost never drink pop anymore, but if somebody said, “You can have NO MORE POP EVER,” you can bet that I’d start fixating on it and end up going, “Screw you!” and guzzle a Mountain Dew.

I mean, some woman in the video was saying that she was waking up in the middle of dreams where she was bathing in Skittles candy? For the love of God, woman, just go to the store and grab a damn bag of Skittles! It ain’t gonna kill you.

I admire people who can have 100% discipline about things, but most people, in most scenarios, require some flexibility. The 80/20 philosophy, I believe, perfectly addresses this.
