They No Longer “Earn It”

Forget the bankster message; just a reminder that these Smith Barney ads were great commercials in their time. I spent my childhood mimicking these ads, and somehow, my friends and I find ourselves regurgitating them today.

A legitimate question is if they ever really”earned it” in the first place.

“they make money the old fashioned way, they earn it” Yep, and my grandmother rides a harley too..btw, she’s been buried over 30 yrs now. So two days ago I heard on the news that Goldman Sux will not be prosecuted, and then yesterday on Reuters this..which just goes to prove that anyone with ANY money in the market reveals their level of stupidity by keeping it there.

“A federal appeals court on Thursday upheld a ruling that puts Bank of New York Mellon ahead of former customers of Sentinel in the line of those seeking the return of money lost in the 2007 failure of the suburban Chicago-based futures broker.

The appeals court affirmed an earlier district court ruling that the bank had a “secured position” on a $312 million loan it gave to Sentinel, which turned out to have been secured by customer money.

Futures brokers are required to keep customers’ funds in dedicated accounts to protect them from being used for anything other than client business.” http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/08/10/us-sentinel-appeals-decision-idUSBRE87900T20120810

Looks to me like we are headed back to the wild west where no laws prevailed and guys just shot other guys in the head and took what they wanted. My question is this…with Sentinel pulling this mobster type action, why aren’t the guys who lost big money going after the fkrs?

“James Koutoulas, head of the Commodity Customer Coalition, which has been an advocate for MF Global clients, said Corzine could still face scrutiny for the transfers.

The Sentinel ruling is “not an end-all-be-all acquittal for Corzine,” he said.”

Oh boy, am not going to be holding my breath on that one..after all, crooks do help other crooks even if in the end they do intend to stab each other to death.
