The Government and “Balanced” Meals

The lunch-and-grains nazis are not only a nuisance in the US – it seems they have a foothold in Canada as well. A mom sent her child to Manitoba Government’s Early Learning and Child Care with an “unbalanced” meal consisting of meat, vegetables, fruit, and dairy, and that earned her a $10 fine and a stern warning from the jackasses who declare that all children’s lunches should accord to Canada’s standards for nutrition policy. Additionally, the child’s meal was supplemented with the industrial food, Ritz Crackers, in order to supply the child with her shot of sugar grains. Hat tip to the several people who FYI’d me with this story.

Ah yes, the government and their sound nutritional philosophies. Why, just look at how healthy the FDA and USDA have made Americans!

Is homeschooling outlawed in Canada? I have absolutely zero clue why any parent would send their child to government schools. They’re so last century.

This is almost unbelievable, it’s so creepy, sad, and wrong. In the ’60s, my mom sent me to school with a peanut butter or baloney sandwich, and I’m fine. I suppose now she’d be imprisoned for child neglect and endangering other children with poison toxic peanuts, and I’d be expelled and put in foster care. I’m so, so glad I’m not a any more, or a parent.

Don’t worry, soon the Federal Government will be regulating what we drink, smoke and eat here, too.

    Because health care.

I hope the child was not gluten intolerant known a celiacs disease.

Notice also the juvenile print. The parents are happy to be talked down to by ‘authorities’. Creepy.

I’d like to see just how fat the people were who issued the “fine.”

If their BMI index exceeds “government specifications,” they should STFU.

I’d wager that most, if not all, are tubs-o-goo.

I’ve seen it in the school at which my thin, fit, paleo wife teaches.

The majority of the administrators (and teachers) are embarrassingly – and grotesquely – obese.

If I was the parent, I’d have a lawyer sue the shit out of them, with the caveat that said attorney request the BMI index of everyone involved. Then move for summary judgment after they refuse.

This is really disappointing to see.   I hope this was fake as it’s seems so over the top.  Or perhaps I don’t understand the Canadian thought process.
