The Federal Reserve Keeps the World Safe

When danger threatens American businesses, the Fed has their backs. The Wall Street Journal recently ran a piece, “The Fed is Your Friend: Posters From the 1920s.” As the piece notes, “The posters, archived by the San Francisco Fed, aimed to get the message out that Federal Reserve system was keeping the world safe for commerce.” And don’t forget that Homeland Security keeps the world safe for everything else. See the posters here.

A truly Stalinist poster. All that’s missing is a helicopter in the foreground that’s dropping bails of green paper.

Reminds me of the “Navy – a force for good” commercials.

Isn’t it up to whomever is on the receiving end of the Navy’s bombs and missiles to decide if our Navy is a force for good”?

Now, in typical statist form, the Federal Reserve is using the “danger” hot button to convince folks that they exist for the “defense of business.”

Whadda load of diaphanous hogwash. I know of a number of businesses that can’t borrow a dime from this “reservoir of funds – despite having good credit.

Which businesses do these fanciful banksters “defend” – besides Goldman Sachs and other “businesses” that are “too big to fail”?

Perhaps the Fed is starting to run scared, deciding to promote this drivel.

Trite though it may sound, with friends like the Fed, who needs enemies?
