The ADA and Swimming Pools

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is requiring most public swimming pools to have a pool lift for handicapped folks. “Public” also includes private swimming pools, such as those at hotels. From a March 14, 2012 article on FirstCoastNews:
Most hotel operators told us they are concerned about drawing attention to their pools, worried their lifts or plans may not be in compliance. The ADA could slap a violator with up to a $55,000 fine. Private lawsuits could be even more.
An article on USA Today noted that at the 11th hour, the U.S. Justice Department granted the hotel industry a 60-day stay on the law due to threats of closing down swimming pools.

This is another ludicrous situation brought about by government meddling. I’m disabled and confined to a power wheelchair, but I’m the same free marketer that I was in my healthy days. Forcing businesses to comply with some Pollyanna scheme is just plain wrong. If I feel strongly enough that a business should accommodate my disability I’ll tell them so myself, and they’ll lose my business if I’m ignored. Most businesses will go out of their way to assist me if it’s at all possible, I’ve consistently found.
Government mandates *always* have an agenda that has everything to do with rent seeking or control or both and nothing to do with helping anyone.

The only pool the PTB should concern themselves with is the CESS Pool that exists on thee Hill. We should get a hugh motorized machine in there that lifts all of those fat, lazy arses in congress and the oval office, and let the electric ripas into the pool they go, wallets and all!
Seeing as they already have it out for us, as manifested in this video here..this pool nonsense is only one small part of the healthcare plan or non-plan for all of us…by focusing on pools this takes folks eyes off the scariest of all…how they intend to drown us in debt and electrify our asses when they say to us ‘bend over’. At which point in time they want us to fork over 1.7 trillion for Pelosi’s pond party otherwise known as the healthcare bill. Watch here…and please, don’t puke in the pool!

After viewing this, the pool thingy appears to be just a little something extra that makes it look like they are so concerned with the disabled when in fact, they will go after them first with this bill…not even count dracula could have thought up what these sickos are putting on americans.
