A total of 105 of the guns were recently purchased for the state’s regular patrol troopers, who have been using semi-automatic 9 mm Ruger carbine rifles. The $76,191 price for the new guns was paid by a combination of drug funds and state revenues, Beaudoin said.

“They’re very happy, but I think I’m happiest of all because they’re safe and have the equipment they need,” she said. “They do so much for us, putting their lives on the line.”

Troopers have been using assault-style weapons for several years, Fleming said Friday. He said the weapons were necessary “for the safety of our officers.”

Surprise, surprise — cops hassle and arrest innocent people to meet their numbers. Here’s a news investigation of the NYPD and their corrupt practice of violating the rights of peaceful citizens. Listen to the one cop with a conscience.

On a similar theme, this YouTube is rather telling (and chilling). A fella was legally engaging in open carry and was stopped and harassed by an agitated cop acting like King of the Hill. Listen to him repeatedly say that he was “violated” by the man who arrived on “his scene.” The words “my scene” are repeated close to a dozen times in this video. He calls for a backup, so then we have two fat cops trying to look like badasses harassing the man. The man doesn’t give in and show his ID, and he eventually walks away from the scene.

You know the police everywhere are working to get guns off the street to “keep us all safe,” right? We don’t dare say that they steal property to turn around and sell it for cash that underwrites the growth of their police power. In November of 2009, the Detroit News worked up a pretty good story on how the local police departments use property seizures to fund their existence. This is from a story that appeared on AP yesterday:

Two guns used in high-profile shootings this year at the Pentagon and a Las Vegas courthouse both came from the same unlikely place: the police and court system of Memphis. Law enforcement officials told the Associated Press that both guns were once seized in criminal cases in Memphis.

The guns were seized and sold to bring in cash. Meanwhile, the ATF has been busy getting toy guns – Airsoft guns – off the street. The ATF seized a shipment of these toys because it made the claim that they could be retrofitted into firearms, which is laughable and absurd. As one fella in this follow-up article states (a merchandise receiver at Andy & Bax Surplus, a Portland Airsoft dealer), “It would be as easy to transform an Airsoft as it would be to transform your Cuisinart or any other electrical appliance into a real gun.” Watch out if you have a Cuisinart! Especially if it doesn’t have an orange tip on the blade. Thanks to Mark Fee for the FYI.

In Oregon, a disgruntled government employee who was placed on leave was arrested for legally buying guns. He was taken into custody by a team of SWAT soldiers wearing the standard military garb, and he was sent in for a mental health evaluation. The arrest was justified by “concern” on the part of the Oregon police state. In fact, they were “extremely concerned” the man might retaliate against his government employers. Again, the “concern ” was reason enough for arrest and a mental evaluation. Now ask yourself why the state keeps trying to grow its intrusive gun registration laws.

Are those halogen headlights on his ballistic shield? Indeed.

One dame says, ”There’s always a good time to use a taser.” Wow – real tough lady, ain’t she? Look at the end of the video when the four women stand there and pose: two have their arms crossed looking real fearsome tough, the one on the front left adopts the bodybuilders flinty pose with arms out, and the one on the right front puts her hand on her gun. Ohhh scary! The one on the right, in the rear, takes the bully, “I’m-gonna-kick-yer-butt” pose. They all have furrowed brows, dagger eyes, and a real rigid stance. These bitches are nauseating. This is another wretched example of a warped, uncivilized American culture, and it is a far cry from the feminine and heroic Wonder Woman.

His sentence? A home curfew and anger management classes. The Judge actually said (hold on): “If I believed sentencing Anthony Abbate to prison would stop people from getting drunk and hitting people, I’d give him the maximum sentence.” Since the same logic could apply to all crimes, can we apply that logic to non-crime crimes like drunk driving and selling/using drugs? Also note that the scumbag claimed “self-defense,” even in light of the video play-by-play of the beating.
