Whenever I hear proposals for the State to control or limit what Americans eat, I think of the ordeal of my mother’s family under Japanese military occupation in World War II. Particularly in the POW and civilian concentration camps, the government forcibly restricted its subjects to a low fat / low protein diet. This helped to keep the inmates docile and too weak to resist. It also demoralized them by the continual reminder that only “deserving” (State-approved) persons get to eat tasty, nourishing food. High-carb slop for everyone else!

Food controls people and the state continues to endorse certain foods such as milk, corn-derived additives, etc. that promote weight gain, then turns around and declares war on obesity. While obesity is climbing here in america, it is interesting to note how the media creates an image of what we see as “not-fat.” For example, many of the stars from the 1940′s were certainly far from “skinny” yet look healthy. We deal with so much brainwashing from the FDA, AMA, etc. regarding health matters. My motto is to do the exact opposite of what doctors tell me to do :) My plus-sized, smoking, high-fat food eating grandmother lived to be 87, go figure! (If the government expects people to pay for obesity care, then it should be equal opportunity-we must pay for the skinny minis too).
