Steve Lee “Likes Guns” and Government Gun Control

The song by Australian Steve Lee, “I Like Guns,” has been making the rounds on the Internet.

Not so fast, dear libertarian friends and fellow fans of guns. Steve Lee is actually a proponent of government-defined gun control, as long as he can have his guns as “toys” to blow up cars. Here is an interview with Steve exclaiming the goodness of Australia’s oppressive gun control laws. Steve dear – most of us, especially those of us living in high-crime areas of the United States, actually prefer to exercise our natural right of self-defense as versus collecting guns as toys and shooting at cars with rocket launchers. Just a thought. Thanks to David Codrea for the tip. It’s very funny – David also points out Steve’s hilarious “booger hook.” Thanks to my friend Mark – who likes guns and hates gun control – for the info.

Holy crap! What’s the world coming to when people sing songs about how cool guns are, and then they stab you in the back with support for gun control! I’m going back to my blog and delete his damn video immediately!

Karen, I am so glad that you posted this. I saw Lew Rockwell’s site post this video yesterday. I was already aware of his real beliefs at the time and I wanted to notify Amy Corderoy but she didn’t allow e-mail like many of the Lew Rockwell contributors do. Please let let her know and hopefully you can post something about it on the site.
    Thanks!

Dear Hypocrite, Aussie, “gun-loving musician” Steve Lee,

Your self-important, Fuddite, “I Like Guns” video, along with your ass-kissing interview have garnered for you your 15 minutes of fame. Now please go away.

Your pretentious, untrained, tweakeresque, BOOGER HOOK-ON-THE-TRIGGER, inept, “gun handling” in your idiotic, narcissistic, “I Like Guns” video, followed by your sycophantic, butt rubbing, “guns are bad for some people, but not the highly responsible me – as long as our masters ram enough gun control laws down our throats – and, oh, yes, guns MUST be controlled” interview serves as a monument to your disdainful stupidity.

As a Range Safety Officer, I and others who actually respect guns, and know that a single mistake with a gun can never be undone, tend to notice that the first thing most “gun safety illiterate” maroons do when handling a gun is to immediately place their finger on the trigger and waive the gun about. Just like you do in your video.

In your reporter-butt-rubbing interview, all that comes to your puny little mind, when asked “what do you like about guns” is to re-drivel some of the lyrics from your video to the reporter. Well done, idiot.

You might want to remember and internalize those immortal words from Tropic Thunder: “You went full retard, man. Never go full retard.”

One of the things that’s apparent in countries where limited freedom still exists, is the fact that many gun owners don’t necessarily like guns for “their polished wood” or any other aesthetic reasons. They understand that the government, and the government regulations you so dearly love, can’t and won’t prevent a loved one from being defenseless to a bigger, stronger predator. Many Americans like guns for a number of reasons – the first one being that they know that if their wife and family are home without them they are not defenseless against a BOOGER HOOK-ON-THE-TRIGGER, gun waiving criminal.

And while you speak as if gun disarmament regulations in various countries actually save lives, you’ve clearly not done even a speck or research on the subject, or you’d have come to an alternative conclusion.

If Australia has chosen to limit gun ownership based upon the actions of a crazy or irresponsible person, it’s my hope that your government overseers watch your video. One look at that and they’ll know that you, sir, are one of the people who have no business owning or shooting any gun. Waving gun barrels about with finger on the trigger like the full ‘tard you are demonstrates that you have no business handling a gun. Your actions in your video is what makes all gun owners look bad, since you assumed the position of preaching about how you “like guns.” The logical conclusion is, your inept lack of gun-safety, and multiple violations of the most basic gun “regulations” is how other “gun lovers” behave. Perhaps that’s true in Australia, but I sincerely doubt it.

You preached about how the Dunblane massacre – perpetrated by a nutcake – made all Australian gun owners “look bad.” How many Aussie gun owners didn’t kill anyone that day? How do they “all look bad” when they did nothing wrong? What if there’d been an armed subject present at Dunblane at the time of the murders? Might things have turned out differently? Where were your government masters when this murder spree went down? Why didn’t one of your masters save the unarmed victims?

I heartily suggest that you stick to singing songs. You are likely much less dangerous waiving a guitar neck about than you are waiving guns around, finger on the trigger, with clueless abandon. I believe that a monkey could be better trained in safe gun handling than you.

And please – don’t ever act as if you a spokesperson for legitimate, safety oriented gun owners – at least American ones.

We neither want, nor need, you kind of “help.”

Kudos to David Codrea from “War on Guns” for the Booger Hook reference. And apologies to anyone offended for the use of the term “tard.”

didn’t fool me for a second, and I couldn’t watch the whole video for the same reason-made it about 5 seconds in, he sounds retarded. I take this right too seriously for that BS. Australia is a sort of candy assed socialist, sunny paradise. A few muslim immigrants to worry about, but other than that they haven’t a clue, if they’ve not gone abroad yet. They have full medical coverage, high relative wages and basically nothing to worry about. I’ve no respect for cheap shot cowards.

    Good catch, Karen.

Steve, what a lapdog! Sheesh! I have no use for phonies and pantywaists.

I had a similar gasp and recoil in horror when I saw “Hunters for McCain 2008″ signs—knowing full well he was one of the most-pro-gun-control U.S. Senators since the 1990s.

I honestly always suspect this type of “gun lover” who is obsessed with playing with guns, especially of the high-power automatic variety. This was of course further confirmed with his booger hook, so so so SO stupid. Idiots like him cause us real responsible gun owners NOT obsessed with being like Duke Nukem so much grief among a public all to happy to confirm their stereotypes of us.

If all those stupid gun controls worked like liberal wackos claimed they would then we would be safe and wouldnt have to lock our doors at night and wouldnt need burglar alarms becuse gun control is a big time faileur where ever its been tried

Don’t worry Ryan. Those signs will be modified. “Hunters for Romney 2012″ signs will be adorning front lawns everywhere in a few months. (Gasp!)

Is it too early to buy “Gun Owners for Ron Paul 2012″ signage?
