The market for goods accomodating obesity is booming. HP now has a camera that can “lie” about your weight. First, I celebrate that for every consumer uncertainty the market comes up with a better alternative. In this case, fat becomes slim with the touch of a button. However, looking at it in another way, this is indeed a sign of the times. People have become so fat and it is so accepted that they are to merely sweep away the fat rolls and bloated waists with a slimming shot from HP. It’s like a moment in fantasyland. Thus this camera is heroic and hilarious and tragic at the same time. Once again, however, it’s the market meeting demand. And fat peoples are demanding a slim mirage instead of taking charge of their daily habits and lives. Aye.
