Photo Album Time/Travel Blog

I’ve been traveling, hence the lack of any blogging lately. However, I thought I’d try something new. I’m in the process of setting up a “Photography” section on my website (where I will post my own photography), but in the meantime, I thought I’d blog some of my travel photos by topic, just to experiment. I’m just changing over from 35mm photography to digital, and it looks like I’ll be in digital for the long run. This is the first time I’ve shot digital in such a large capacity. Beware that unless you have a top-notch monitor and video card, these photos may not look as good, clear, or colorful as they actually are. Here’s to hoping you have some good equipment.

I love the Midwest and its amazing assortment of old towns, river towns, Great Lakes towns, Victorian architecture, and middle class culture. I’ve been photographing the old river towns in Minnesota, especially those quaint little places along the St. Croix River, east of the Twin Cities – Stillwater, Hastings, and Red Wing. Stillwater, Minnesota happens to be one of my favorite places in this great land of ours. (The Grumpy Old Men movies were filmed there.) It’s a sleepy yet hip little town that sits on the fabulous St. Croix, just Northeast of St. Paul. This old town has great restaurants, great antiquing, bike trails, river parks, and best of all, it’s home to one of the greatest bookstores in the Midwest, as well as the most glorious Starbucks I’ve ever seen. Enjoy the photos, and please feel free to give me any feedback.
