Tyranny of the Pharmaceutical-Congressional-Medical Complex

Corporate state fascism has an appreciable base in terms of the pharmaceutical industry. Gardasil is the vaccine that purportedly protects against two strains of HPV. Discerning people remember the push to make Gardasil vaccinations mandatory. The movement died because Americans rebelled after waking up to the obvious – it was a deceitful hustle on the part of Big Pharma and politicians to make billions, and folks did not want their young daughters to be pawns for the pharmaceutical-congressional-medical complex.

Remember that Merck trotted out this drug as a revenue savior because it was reeling after its Vioxx pains and its old patents were expiring. Merck openly lobbied for the mandatory vaccination of young females – at $360 per three-dose regimen - on a state-by-state basis. Merck helped to sell its junk juice by claiming that it was pretty much free of side effects. The organization Judicial Watch filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the FDA, and in a 2007 analysis it discovered, at that time, there were 3,461 complaints that were filed about adverse reactions to the vaccine. Side effects have been blood clots, Bells Palsy, Guillain-Barre Syndrome, seizure-like activity, and fainting. It is also being linked to miscarriages, degenerative muscle conditions, and ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). Oh, and death. Some young girls are developing juvenile ALS after getting the vaccines, and some die.

Barbara Shapiro, an ALS expert and associate professor of neurology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine who was enlisted by a mutual friend to help the Tetlocks do their research, isn’t ready to dismiss the cases as pure coincidence. She’s pored over the medical records of Jenny, Whitney, and Alicia and sees a striking similarity. “Juvenile ALS tends to progress very slowly over years or even decades, but these girls all seemed to have a more rapid, progressive form.”

Reports differ, but one of the latest reports I’ve read on deaths from Gardasil says that the (known and reported) death toll is at 32. This week, a 14-year-old British girl died after being injected with Cervarix, the HPV vaccine that is used in Britain. An FDA panel recently gave an approving nod to Cervarix for GlaxoSmithKline. As a result, the FDA will likely grant approval for use of the drug in the U.S. fairly soon.

Oh, and it gets better. Now that Merck will have competition in the US from GlaxoSmithKline and its Cervarix, it needs a bigger market for its own juice. Though Gardasil and Cervarix are both alleged to protect against two HPV strains, Merck makes the claim that its Gardasil also “defends against two other HPV types that cause 90 percent of genital warts, something Cervarix does not target.” So now Merck is seeking approval to market its product to boys and men. How’s that for bullshit marketing to get one up on your competition?

These vaccines are sold under the guise of “preventing deaths,” and then the case is made that saving many lives is worth losing the occasional life, and never mind all of the people left suffering from unexplained autoimmune disorders, muscle disease, etc., neurological mayhem, etc. But in the case of cervical cancer, no one ever seems to want to discuss the obvious: that women have a way to protect themselves from cervical cancer, and that’s called the pap smear. But then again, preventative medicine such as that does not empower the corporate state, enriching the executives and stockholders and political system, while serving as a control mechanism for the populace at large.

Merck openly lobbied to have its drug forced into the bodies of young women against the will of their parents. Texas Governor Rick Perry got heat for issuing an executive order to force sixth graders to receive the vaccination. Oh but wait – at the time, Perry had a former chief-of-staff, Mike Toomey, who was a lobbyist for Merck. And Perry’s then chief-of-staff’s mother-in-law, who was a state legislator, was the state director of an organization called Women in Government, which was bankrolled by Merck.

And then you have spineless, know-nothing shills like this hysterical fool who says that the high price of Gardasil makes it difficult for six-pack Americans to get the shot (and the vaccination is therefore a privilege for the elites!), but mandatory laws would make it more available and accessible by the poor and middle class. That’s like saying a wartime draft benefits Joe SixPack while the elites who get stuck in college or the Coast Guard miss out on all the fun! How long do you think this person has had her head up her keister? The reality is that it is the elites who use their monopoly of power to control and benefit from coercive politics that run roughshod over average folks who have no political power or resources to defy and resist the tyranny of Big Government.

What a huge racket medicine has turned out to be in our country. Here in New York it seems like every other day another doctor or health facility is being charged with fraud. This is why I believe that government paid for health care needs to cease. Medicaid and Medicare are just taxpayer rip-offs. Cured patients are bad for business so the poor and elderly are kept ” sick ” to keep the payments coming in. The people of our country are being shafted in many numerous ways every single day but we keep putting up with it.

…………after reading this column I hope Im never prescribed a drug manufactured by Merk. I would never like to pay money to a company that does business in this underhanded fashion.

Thanks. I’ve been seeking an M. D. who will agree in advance in writing, preferably bonded, that he/she will protect me from off-label anti-psychotics given without prior informed consent–each time–were I to be vulnerable as I aged.

    I have found none yet.

    Do you know of any?

    I’m in Central Iowa.

A doctor friend of mine in another state has mentioned a ‘god-complex’ amongst ‘em.

    Shalom,

    Chuck

I wish we could expose the problems with medicine to the public at large, so that people could understand the need to manage their own health (and begin developing tools to do so). Instead of wailing about non-existent rights (whose only concrete result is to take away our natural right to do for ourselves what we can), we need space and opportunity to adapt our approach to good information, information which institutions like Merck and the US gov’t are not willing to give. Thank goodness for the Web; otherwise, we would still live entirely under the thumb of institutions controlling our access to the information that determines our life and death.

The vaccine approach to preventing cervical cancer is like putting a band-aid on the check engine light of one’s car. Like you said, regular pap tests are highly effective at treating this. As you know, the HPV virus, contracted sexually, plays a large role in the development of cervical cancer. The young age of exposure and frequent number of sex partners that many young girls have points to this. It would be more conservative for young women to be encouraged to simply have regular exams and to abstain from multiple sex partners, but then there is no money in that for big pharma and of course, no common sense.

I just read Mr. Hartman’s comment. Makes me think if there is any fraudulent medical industry that needs to be cast down, it is that of modern psychiatry. When two year olds are being put on antipsychotic medications, one knows there is something seriously wrong with the profession, who prescribes this stuff like candy. To an extent, I also question some of the consumers who foolishly and willingly comply.

These are only the observed short term side effects of the pharmatoxins ( I prefer the term “pharmatoxins” for these chemicals rather than “drugs” or “medication”, just as “agritoxins” are good terms for the additives the FDA authorizes–or requires–for our food). We don’t as yet even understand the long term effects, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they were at least as deadly as the diseases whose symptoms the pharmatoxins were meant to alleviate. It is interesting that they are prescribed mostly for symptom abatement, not for actual cures!

    PEACE AND FREEDOM!!

I used to teach English to corporate clients here in Italy.  One of the companies I used to teach was Merck Sharpe & Dohm, the Italian subsidiary of Merck.  Anyway, I was teaching them when the Italian government passed its initative to vaccinate all girls under 14 (if I remember correctly) against HPV.  I asked one of the senior managers if MSD had any influence in that government policy. He confirmed that they indeed had.
