Majority Gets Whipped by the Minority. Again.
Saturday, September 23, 2006Thanks to glorious democracy, Capitol Hill had yet another stunningly productive week. If you never pay attention to the House Majority Whip webpage, you should. This is where you can see precisely what your congressmen are doing to waste your money and mess up your life. On Tuesday, Sept 19, see what was on the docket:
- H.Con.Res. 210 – Supporting the goal of eliminating suffering and death due to cancer by the year 2015. Somebody must have felt good after passing that one.
- H.Res. 982 – Supporting the goals and ideals of National Peripheral Arterial Disease Awareness Week. After this one, everyone feels really warm and fuzzy.
- H.Res. 526 – Supporting the goals and ideals of observing the Year of Polio Awareness.
- H.Con.Res. 386 – Honoring Mary Eliza Mahoney, America’s first professionally trained African-American nurse.
- H.Res. 622 – To recognize and honor the Filipino World War II veterans for their defense of democratic ideals and their important contribution to the outcome of World War II You’ll note a theme here?
- H.Res. 415 – Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that the Socialist Republic of Vietnam needs to do more to resolve claims for confiscated real and personal property, and for other purposes. Vietnam is an issue while the People’s Republic of Amerikka has become a nation of legalized gangstering on the part of government?
- H.Con.Res. 317 – Requesting the President to issue a proclamation annually calling upon the people of the United States to observe Global Family Day, One Day of Peace and Sharing, and for other purposes. Now this one really pulls at the heartstrings. Does this mean that government has to stop killing, stealing, taxing, and bombing for a day?
- H.Res. 874 – Recognizing and honoring America’s Seniors
All these bills concerned with “awareness” and “recognizing” or “honoring” someone or something are nothing but tripe.
