Lifestyle Tyranny in Iraq Signals “Normal”

Friday, August 7, 2009

Congratulation, Iraq, you are on your way to being a “normal” state – one that rules, controls, and bans. We should be ecstatic that we can pass off our Nanny State ideals to our military outposts. This article opines that Iraq must be getting back to “normal,” due to the fact that the Iraq government has announced “sweeping curbs” (love this terminology) on smoking. Thus we are to understand that such omnipotent government powers over people has become a ”normal” thing that we should expect from western democracies and their conquered terrorities.

Do people/editors ever actually think about what they say/write/think?

I sometimes wonder if there is a secret desire on the part of most Americans to be dictated to, commanded and controlled, … as if having true freedom and liberty to act would be too unsettling?
