The Judge on the state of our non-freedom under the omnipotent, unconstitutional, totalitarian United States government. This is a very powerful message to be seeing on FOX News. Thanks to Charles Burris for the FYI.

What if every American zombie from the left and the right actually left their tombstones for five minutes to listen to this man? You think it would make any difference? I am reminded of my sweetheart who did five tours of duty in Nam followed by some more with the CIA. When in Nam a U.S.Reporter was there to interview the guys. One came up to him and said “is this your first tour of duty?” To which he replied, “no, this is my 4th”. THe reporter aghast, said “Hasn’t this affected you…why would you come back? Don’t you have nightmares and all?” He said, “Oh, yes, the nightmares are horrible…I sweat and tremble all the time”. She said, “please tell us about your nightmares”. His classic response threw her for a loop and she was pissed, but he meant it. Here it is…”yes, I get horribly frightened mostly from the nightmares…and they’re always like this..”In my nightmares I see america being invaded and people just go home to watch tv”. Of course, he was being a smart ass, but in fact, truer words have never been spoken. That’s why I wonder if our 300,000,000 zombies would shuffle a little faster in their destiny to death by dodging..that is dodging the facts, the reality of what the hell is happening!

What if most people were more interested in Dancing with the Has-Beens than the world they are living in? :-/

Can someone please tell me what exactly there is here to argue with? I heard nothing but truth!

Meanwhile Congress is busy removing any trace of the Constitution in the National Defense Authorization Act. Sections 1031 and 1032 allow the military to arrest American citizens anyplace under the flimsiest of pretenses and hold them indefinitely.

Maybe we should call on our very own Senator Carl Levin, champion of personable liberties, to fix this problem.

Oh, wait, he helped DRAFT those sections. Never mind.

    Hi Karen,

I just sent a message with a typo, I wrote “personable liberties”

I of course meant “personal liberties”. Whoops! Must be my Detroit Public School showing!

The worst part is that most Americans are far too stupid to have any clear idea about what Judge Napolitano is talking about.

Good point, Jeannie, about TV – the plug in drug. “Evolution’s End,” by Joseph Chilton Pearce, goes into depth about the effect of TV on children’s brains: http://www.amazon.com/Evolutions-End-Claiming-Potential-Intelligence/dp/006250732X. The move “They Live” http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096256/ by John Carpenter, is an excellent metaphor concerning the plug in drug, and those who willingly sell their souls to support the message.
I’ve often wondered if aliens have taken over the planet. It certainly doesn’t seem like the same world I grew up in.
I see parents who don’t have a book in the house, have never read to their children, and don’t read anything themselves except the sloppy shorthand grammar and spelling in text messages.
The kids have video games though.
When they reach school age, the children are dropped off at school by their parents. These children have never having learned a thing, can’t add 2+2, can’t write even their own names, and the parents expect teachers to teach them everything they should have learned from attentive, caring parents.
I look back at school pictures from the early 60′s – photos of a where a whole classroom of children, and only one in the picture is obese. Kids these days can’t believe it when we explain we don’t have TV. Most “poor” kids have a TV in every room.
My wife and I spent over a decade trying to educate folks about what was happening in the country. Now that the economy is in the crapper, people are asking if we’ve read (insert title) – books we were trying to get people to read and learn from in the early 90′s to around 2004.
I’m finished attempting to educate others. Now we have factions from the Tea Party – happy to be taxed into oblivion maintaining hundreds of military bases around the world – who chant slogans about bombing brown people in other countries into oblivion. Then there’s the so-called 99 Percenters, chanting slogans about bombing banks and corporations into oblivion, yet rioting on Black Friday to consume from the very corporations they hate. Most can’t see the forest for the trees, and it seems that both sides rally for their own version of government intervention, yet cannot see the irony in their positions.
One side gets their information solely from the war drummers at FAUX NOOZ, the other side from MSNBC or SEE B.S.
But there’s apparently a growing faction that is beginning to understand what’s happening. Hopefully, that small faction is growing. It may be too little to late. Because I spent much of my time during my most productive years trying to get the word out, I can’t afford to do anything now except to try to put food on the table.
Karen once either wrote or said something to the effect of: (paraphrased) “If people can’t see what’s going on with the government’s takeover of GM, Chrysler, etc, and the bailouts of mega banks, they will be caught with their pants down when the whole house of cards collapses.”
I’ve already invested too much time trying to get people to understand what’s going on, and now only participate in small ways.
Your sweetheart was quite astute in his assessment back then. I fear little has changed. Thankfully, there are voices at LRC, this blog, and even on FAUX – like Judge Napolitano, who may wake up enough people to derail the train of tyranny barreling down the track.
