Judge Napolitano on Guns and Tyrants

From Napolitano’s January 10th, 2013 column on Fox News:

The historical reality of the Second Amendment’s protection of the right to keep and bear arms is not that it protects the right to shoot deer. It protects the right to shoot tyrants, and it protects the right to shoot at them effectively, thus, with the same instruments they would use upon us.

The comment always posed by the non-thinking, voluntary slaves, who still don’t get it, is this: “You don’t need an AR-15 to hunt.” A nice poster going around the ‘Net makes the point that, surely, the militarized police state needs this to direct traffic and control crowds?

The Piers Morgan’s and Dianne Feinstein’s of the world boggle my mind behind their questioning of “why do you need an AR-15″? I guess that I don’t necessarily “need” one, but I have one; just like I don’t “need” a big screen TV, but I have one; and, just like I don’t “need” a sports car, but I have one…Has it now become a function of the statists to tell us what we need and what we don’t need?

“You don’t need an Armored Personnel Carrier to write speeding tickets”…
