LukeNC, Obama is a [expletive withheld] idiot. As veteran cum libertarian, when I hear a so-called Harvard Law School grad---you know LAW, a discipline rooted in the meaning and interpretation of WORDS---refer in a speech to a Haitian-born Navy Hospitalman assigned to the Marines as a "CORPSE-MAN," I have to reflect that Obama is just a more stupid, blacker version of Dubya.

"Well, he isn't used to military nomenclature." Hmmm. It would have been interesting to see how Mr. Columbia Undergrad / Harvard Legacy pronounced other nautical terms such as "COXSWAINS Mate" (pronounced COX-INS; and no, a Coxswains Mate is not associated with Barney Frank). Of course, none of his inner city, public school educated supporters would recognize his mispronunciation of AmeriCORPS, would they?

If Obama were Laurence Vance, I would recognize it was a play on words. I don't think so. Just another example of how Affirmative Action destroyed more minority minds than anything the Aryan Nation or KKK could ever dream up.

I saw a South Park episode about the Succubus. There was a running gag about "fie dollah" in it, and I didn't get it at the time.

Actually I dont think that using the different accents for different audiences is a bad thing in and of itself. What the politician is using it to obtain is the real story. Obama uses it to get votes and push his leftist-socialist agenda. Bush used it to push his right-socialist agenda. What if there was a liberty candidate attempting to reach political office with the message of sound money, humble foreign policy and very limited government and they were using this "dialect"? I don't think thats a bad thing. However, the hardcore statists, like those who dominate CNN and Fox News, would pounce on it and play their tired yet successful game of personal attacks instead of honest intellectual debate.

From Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, where Huck's referring to the king and duke in Chapter 19 which fairly sums up his highness' haughty hooligan's horse crap.."These liars warn't no kings nor dukes, at all, but just low-down humbugs and frauds." Thank you Huck for knowing when a guy is passing the buck, knows he's out of luck and doesn't even give a f!

Obama's "blackcent" (as John McWhorter would call it) is just more phony political ethnic identity pandering and bull-crap to appeal to brain dead liberal black voters, much like the Connecticut- and Ohio-bred Bush family adopting phony Texan mannerisms in the name of swaying Southern white Republican voters. It's no more wrong to point out Obama's phoniness than it is to point out the "Yellow Rose" phoniness of Dubya and all his clan. It's not a racial issue, it's just a matter of statist politicians using whatever is available in their particular bag o' tricks for any particular "group" being lecture at; more mainstream media-oriented, thoughtless, "inch-deep, mile-wide" pablum for the masses of proles who buy into charismatic personality worship (as Hoffer might put it).

I had been working on a nice, nasty, condescending, hideously un-PC open letter to those demographic groups that are the Obamunist's worshipers, a letter that I had intended to publish on my blog the other week to mark the first anniversary of our current national catastrophe. In it I intended to ask, in the most condescending, sarcastic, and biting way possible, how these people were enjoying their first year under the reign of their puppet idol and how they were relishing the fruits of all the campaign promises that he's kept and from which they're benefiting.

I don't think I'll bother now. Somehow I think that the caustic humor will have lost its bite and its impact, as a growing number of these ever-deluded souls are starting to publicly admit that they've been had. It's no fun rubbing salt into the wounds of people who admit that they deserve the wounds.

"I don't care how poor you are, you've got 5 dollars for this campaign." Hell yes, Obama. Our kids don't have to eat every day. They can wait until tomorrow. What a bastard. Nice suit, though.

Karen, to me, this little Wiki definition does the trick:

Barker (occupation)
A barker is a person who attempts to attract patrons to entertainment events, such as a circus or funfair, by exhorting passing public, describing attractions of show and emphasizing variety, novelty, beauty, or some other feature believed to incite listeners to attend entertainment. A barker may conduct a brief free show, introducing performers and describing acts to be given at the feature performance. Professional barkers strongly dislike the term and instead refer to themselves as "talkers."

BIC = Barker in Chief
