Depression Barbarity

The other day I received an email from a friend in Memphis, Tennessee that went like this:

A stark reminder of the society we live in. These are just a few of the items that appeared on our local news during the last two nights.

1.  Memphis man commits robbery of another individual, then douses the victim with gasoline and sets him on fire which causes the victim to die a horrible death.

2. Several teenagers take a neighbors puppy, wrap it in a sweatshirt and proceed to beat the animal.  When in custody of police and were informed of the death of the puppy, the teenagers laughed and giggled.

3. Memphis man, under the influence of witchcraft, proceeds to stick over forty needles into his toddler sons body.

4. I fail to mention the multitude of other robberies, murders, and rapes the are everyday occurrences.

And I’m strange and paranoid for carrying a firearm wherever I go.  Go figure.

Tonight I turned on the local Fox station, and (4) stories led off the 11 o’clock News – all stories of shootings that led to murder on the east side of Detroit, including the video of one vicious party store (liquor-convenience store) robbery where the owner was shot and an employee taunted by three men with guns, one with an AK-47. It was all caught on tape and shown to viewers.

A couple of week ago, a 39-year-old woman in Venice, CA, who was the owner of a dry cleaning business, was brutally raped and murdered, while a defenseless neighbor (landlord?) watched through the window, and told reporters he “yelled at the attacker to stop.” He yelled at the man to stop? Ignatius Piazza gets it right about cowardice. And then the defenseless neighbor ran to call 911 so the cops could come in time to call the medical examiner. The woman, Eun Kang, was pregnant with twins when Boneetio Kentro Washington stalked, raped, and killed her and her unborn twins as she unloaded groceries from her car and brought them into her home. Boneetio, a lifelong scumbag, has played the system before, having been declared “not mentally competent” to go on trial for a previous crime.

Just two hours ago, I was visiting with friends who live in East Detroit. As we sat in the family room, talking and enjoying the evening, three (very close) gunshots rang out, which appeared to come from a shotgun. And I’m strange and paranoid for carrying a .45 – at minimum – wherever I go.  Go figure.

    Hi Sissie!

    Bravo!

Absolutely no rational person should be without at least one sidearm regardless of where they are. A few months ago a man sitting in his recliner had to jump up and use his sidearm as thugs smashed down his door.

Hey, when seconds count…the cops are minutes away!

I don’t have the tenacity to wear a “man purse” in public, otherwise I’d be sporting a .45 ACP too Karen.

    Right now I’m using a single-stack 9mm that’s easy to conceal.

While the northeast has been largely spared by the economic depression that has gripped our nation (thanks Greenspan and Bernanke!), more folks are losing their jobs, their homes and their futures and surely some of them will resort to crime out of necessity. Stay safe in Motor City!

I live in Wyoming. The biggest city (Cheyenne) sported one murder last year. I can point to any house in our small town and guarantee that, if you were to do a count, you would find more than four guns in each of them.

Most people around here open carry, especially ranchers and the like. Railroad workers are prohibited from carrying, but the rule has to be enforced to work and nobody enforces it. It’s the national railroad making the law and the Wyoming railroad men aren’t interested.

About the only gun law that gets enforced around here is shooting into the air on July 4. :) That’s worth a night in the drunk tank, Tom (the town cop) tells me.

This is so sad, reading about this barbarity. I grew up in Canada, and saw firsthand what happens when restrictive gun laws are enforced. The crime rates soared. Last year, I decided to move to a more rural area and am glad I did. Although, living in the country does not eliminate crime it makes me cringe for those who are trapped in urban hellholes with no way out.

With all the illegals and unemployed construction workers, as well as lifelong lazy bums here in Texas, we find most households sport a shotgun and handguns. Don’t mess with Texas, and don’t mess with Texans!

In New York City the Criminals and teenagers are armed to the teeth so that they can Prey upon the citizenry. The police are undermanned and scarce; and on Staten Island the District Attorney plea bargains just about every crime down to almost nothing. The Judges are pushovers.

Recently, here, a 16 year old girl stabbed a grown man to death on a train because he bumped into her boyfriend. Such is the lunacy of large northern American cities.

It is going to get much worse because our so-called leaders are so clueless that they think that ignoring something is going to make it eventually go away!!

So today ( 1-2-10 ) there is a small New York story being told about a nine year old boy stabbed to death at 3:00AM!! Who stabbed him to death and why were never mentioned in the story. People will shake their heads wondering how this tragic death came about but I am wondering just how long our country will continue to exist!! You Betcha!!!
