The Portuguese hosts of Friday’s NATO summit hoped to use the event to promote clean-energy and electric cars, but all eyes were on US President Barack Obama’s diesel-guzzling “Beast” instead.

As is usual when he travels, Obama’s eight-tonne armoured behemoth of a limousine was flown out to Lisbon before the US leader’s arrival, and it ferried him from the airport tarmac to his first meetings of the weekend.

Doubtless he didn’t intend the Beast’s roar to drown out his hosts’ green message, but a US presidential motorcade and its attendant escort of Secret Service SUVs do attract attention, even at the most elite gatherings.

All the White House ever has to say about these events is that the president’s security arrangements are “non-negotiable.” Our lives, of course, are not only negotiable, but we are like little Lego sets for the central planners who sit on the floor cross-legged and follow the enclosed instructions to piece us all together in ways convenient for the class of almighty rulers. Seniors are being asked to provide their birthdates, Social Security numbers and citizen status to the Secret Service so background checks could be performed. Such a check is required for anyone who gets within an arm’s length of the president, students were told at their senior breakfast Friday.

…K-Central seniors also were told Friday that graduation tickets will come from the White House, and the tickets will have bar codes to heighten accountability and prevent them from being sold. “Any irregularities can be traced back to the student who was given the ticket,” Boehme said.

Remember a while back when I linked to this very revealing speech from Obama where he put on his best black preacher for the NAACP audience. Here are my comments on that. “No matter how bitter the ride, how stony the road…..we have not faltered, nor have we grown weary…….” I ask – should these be the words of a President? Pay attention to the part where he starts yelling and preaching and doing the preacher run-ons. Also note his stumbling and slippages.

It’s interesting to note how Obama had one dialect during the campaign (to get elected), and once he became president he suddenly developed another dialect to appeal to his core constituency. One termer? Umm, yeah.

Accordingly, this is a priceless one minute and thirty-eight seconds on CNN. The Media bobbleheads are going sour on Obamaism, and the president’s biggest supporters are turning on their erstwhile hero of change. It’s a beautiful thing.

I suggest you read Sec 202 (Building Retrofit Program) and Sec. 204 (Building Energy Performance Labeling Program), especially concerning residential housing, if you want to know how this thing will make your life a living hell. And if you are a commercial landlord, double whammy.

Remember Obama’s chatter about skyrocketing energy costs under his Cap & Trade. In this video, once again, he must be without his teleprompter. He bumbles and stumbles his way through this, can’t get out the appropriate words, and has no intelligent commentary to offer whatsoever. Outside of his totalitarian rule, I’ve come to the conclusion that he is The Stupid President. The biggest boob of the modern presidential era. He is a Saturday Night Live skit. And this boob is taking his one shot – 4 years – and unleashing his process of ruination upon us all.

President Barack Obama declared the swine flu outbreak a national emergency, giving his health chief the power to let hospitals move emergency rooms offsite to speed treatment and protect noninfected patients. Health and Human Services chief Kathleen Sebelius now has authority to bypass federal rules when opening alternative care sites, such as offsite hospital centers at schools or community centers if hospitals seek permission.

The hysteria is completely out of control. Meanwhile, remember that Obama’s children will not, as of yet, get a swine flu vaccination. See this October 8th post.

President Obama’s school age daughters have not been vaccinated against the H1N1 flu virus.  White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs says the vaccine is not available to them based on their risk.

The  Centers for Disease Control recommend that children ages 6 months through 18 years of age receive a vaccination against the H1N1 flu virus.  At this time only children with chronic medical conditions are receiving the vaccination because their immune system is not strong enough to fight off the strain.  The CDC also says a regular seasonal flu shot does not protect against the virus.

FACT: Sec. Sebelius says that children are the most susceptible to H1N1 flu, and should be vaccinated against it.

[Note the carefully constructed PASSIVE phrase by the White House: "the vaccine is not available to them", as opposed to say, a more PROACTIVE and ACCURATE phrase: "have decided not to vaccinate."  Why?  Because the latter phrase would prompt people to ask why the First Family is withholding consent to vaccinate, while the former makes it falsely appear like the decision not to vaccinate was imposed on Obama.  Personally, I've heard thousands of parents refer to their decision not to vaccinate their children.  But I've never once heard anyone explain that the "vaccine was not available to them".  Does anyone believe a vaccine would not be made "available" to the President's own children?!]

In the video below, watch him circumnavigate the question about whether his children will get the juice. Without a teleprompter he is lost, with no ability to think on his feet. At the time he was asked this question (September 20th), surely he knew the unyielding position of Health & Human Services Czar Kathleen Sebelius and the CDC, but note that he says, “My understanding at this point is that……sputter, stumble, ummm…” The position of necessary vaccination – and even the repeated attempts to make the vaccine mandatory – had been communicated well before this point in time, yet he pretends to not understand the position of his own Health Czar and the CDC.

In a decision as shocking as Friday’s surprise peace prize win, President Obama failed to win the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences Monday.

While few observers think Obama has done anything for world peace in the nearly nine months he’s been in office, the same clearly can’t be said for economics.

The president has worked tirelessly since even before his inauguration to wrest control of the U.S. economy from failed free markets, and the evil CEOs who profit from them, and to turn it over to wise, fair and benevolent bureaucrats.
