You say, “Williams, the reason blacks dominate basketball and football is that they are better than whites.” Careful! That’s an attitude that could win you a charge of racism. It differs little from suggesting that the reason why not many blacks are nuclear physicists is because they are not as good as whites. It should be remembered that diversity creed holds that we are all equal and would be proportionately represented by race across all activities but for the fact of discrimination and oppression.

Basketball, football and nuclear physics aren’t the only areas of our lives sorely lacking diversity and proportional representation. American men are struck by lightning six times as often as American women. Men are about 54 percent of the labor force but suffer more than 90 percent of job-related deaths. Cervical cancer rates are five times higher among Vietnamese women in the U.S. than among white women. Pima Indians of Arizona have the highest diabetes rates in the world. Prostate cancer is nearly twice as common among black men as white men. Half of all Mexican wives are married in their teens while only 10 percent of Japanese wives are married that early.

I assume people saw Jimmy Carter’s remarks calling the anti-Obamacare demonstrators “racist.” I thought I’d point out that on CNN, he was quoted as saying, “they wave signs in the air that said we should have buried Obama with Kennedy, those kinds of things are beyond the bounds.” Carter intentionally lied, of course, to make it sound like evil resistors were implying murder. The signs clearly said, “Bury Obamacare with Kennedy.” But no one in the media called this to the carpet.

Why the social stratification? Probably because “people use these sites to connect with people they already know,” Ms. Hargittai says. “And people tend to have friends like them.”

People tend to have friends like them? Say it isn’t so! Also from the article:

Her research also seems to support Ms. Boyd’s contention that social media “mirrors and magnifies” our social divisions, rather than removes them. “We can use technology as a tool to connect with people, but we can’t assume that it will eliminate all of the serious issues we have to face in this country,” Ms. Boyd said at PDF. “Pervasive social stratification is being reified in a new era. If we don’t address this head-on, inequality will develop deeper roots that will further cement divisions in our lives.”

Ms. Hargittai said that the division of race and ethnicity on social networking sites is only getting more pronounced. We gotta do something about this! The whacko nutjob, Danah Boyd, another angry researcher of social divisions, said this:

“What we’re seeing is a modern incarnation of white flight,” Ms. Boyd said. “It should scare the hell out of us.”

Maybe we should just enforce busing on Facebook . Set up quotas on both Facebook and MySpace, and where those quotas don’t line up, the government should bus white folks from the suburbs of Facebook to the inner city of MySpace by closing down their accounts and locking their computers out of potential Facebook registration. Of course, to enforce that, we’ll have to have a whole new set of rules for purchasing computers so that they are all registered like a handgun. Then it’ll be a federal crime to alter your computer and hack your way into Facebook if you were banned from it for diversity reasons. This could create millions of jobs for security and IT people, as well as sociologists, psychologists, social workers, and diversity professionals with doctorates. However, the problem remains how to get minorities, who voluntarily open up accounts on MySpace, to do the same on Facebook? Since it is a free service and requires voluntarily participation, there can be no affirmative action program. That means only one thing: let the purge begin on Facebook.

Thus this is clearly a conundrum that has me frightened for the future of America. I’m losing sleep over it already.

Note the letter’s typical left-wing, female tone of “oh my, I’m soooo offended.” Miss Ibanez, and most other women her age, have had the standard politically correct, collectivist-reactionary, group-hug mentality shoved into their tiny brains since they attended Head Start, and onward into their college years. These people emerge from the system and they all sound exactly the same and repeat the same tired, old lines about the confederacy (you think she knows anything about that conflict?), racism, offensive statements, bigotry, hate, yada yada. These kids are Xerox copies of one another. But that’s their diversity. Intellectually, they are empty shells. They are helpless, unenlightened milquetoasts, and they represent the bulk of America’s future. They are the reason why freedom may be on its last legs.
