Bread and Circuses (and Welfare) for the Kiddies

It’s this kind of garbage that makes me one pissed-off victim of the Oppressive Tax Scam-o-Rama:

Students in the Dysart Unified School District don’t have to go a whole summer without cafeteria pizza, barbecue chicken or mashed potatoes.

Thanks to a federal summer food program, Dysart students can eat free breakfast and lunch at sites across the district.

“For a lot of kids in our community, the only hot meal they get each day is at school,” said Tim Tait, district spokesman.

And in the summer, unlike during the school year, any child under age 18 can eat for free, regardless of their family’s financial situation or even where they attend school.

“Really the program is designed to support those students who don’t have a fridge full of food at home,” Tait said.

But the program has other benefits, too.

“For a lot of kids in our community, the only hot meal they get each day is at school,” said Tim Tait, district spokesman. So? And this is supposed to move me to tears? Is Mom too busy trying to latch onto a new boyfriend to feed her kids? Or is Dad too weighted down by the remote control-beer combination to get up and throw some slop together for the kids? Then this:

“It’s a benefit to the community because those children may not be getting the nourishment they need at home,” he said.

And? Fat kids stuffing their faces with pizza benefits me? How? What mentally incompetent boobs! These rotten, gangstering thugs that take my money at gunpoint — so they can dole it out to lazy crud — can all go straight to hell.
