They have that near bottomless pit of tax dollars to subsidize failure, along with the authority to create the rules which squeeze out the private entities and thus pave the way for absolute government intervention.

It is like the government entering the NFL:  Their team would be the caliber of a high school junior varsity squad, but they would modify the rules to limit legit NFL opponents to 1 down per possession, 3 players on the field, and 4 points per TD. The government team would allow themselves 12 downs per possession, 36 players on the field, and 50 points per TD. During the postgame press conference, the government team coach would proudly proclaim how great it is to have a winning team!</description>
