Barney Frank Gone Wild

Watch the video for some good Barney Frank moments at his town hall, especially when he’s upset by the Obama poster.

On the other hand, watch Rep. Eric Massa (D-N.Y.) say that he will go against his constituents on health care (because it is in his best interest to do so, of course). MASSA: “I will vote against their opinion if I actually believe it will help them.”

I would like to believe that Eric Massa, as a consequence of his “let them eat [cake]” remark, will be invited by his constituents to go get a REAL job somewhere else after the November elections. Unfortunately, the history of New York politics –heck, the political history of almost anywhere else in Amerika, for that matter– suggests strongly that the acerebral ovine masses in his district who bother to vote will send him right back to the “represent” them inside the Imperial Beltway.

MASSA: “I will vote against their opinion if I actually believe it will help them.”This should be tattooed on the forehead of every single person who is foolish enough to insist that voting for a candidate is *in any way* the same as voting on any particular public policy.

Barney Frank was absolutely wonderful.  He brought the discourse down to her level.  It’s a shock when you see a politician combat a calculated and divisive statement with brutal truth.
The people waving those signs come from a very sheltered perspective – “nothing will ever happen to me, I won’t get sick and dropped from my policy, I’ll never know anything but prosperity”.

Melissa, sheltered perspective? Try this: people don’t want the fucking government to run their health care.
Fortunately, the left-wing line on health care resistance is just too easy to defeat:

And, oh yeah, I’ve lost a job, had no health care, AND ended up in-and-out of a hospital for 3+ months for an intense illness during that time. Amazingly(!), I didn’t become a whining, begging socialist due to my own circumstance. It’s really sad when people allow their own bitter circumstances drive a tyrannical force to rob the rest of the populace of their freedom. You people are willing to throw away what used to be the most potent example of freedom on this earth, and you’ll do that to satisfy your whiny, bitchy, me-me demands.

People have got to stop being whining, sissy-ass wimps and take care of themselves. Stand up on your two feet, turn off the goddamn TV, and act like an independent human being. We fought a bloody war over freedom once, and we’ll do it again.

I was afraid to read a thread titled “Barney Frank Gone Wild” as I was afraid there might be skimpy outfits and pictures involved (LOL).
Melissa: pray tell, how do you know that all those folk live “sheltered lives,” as you term it? While you might consider that woman’s remarks to Frank as “Hitlerum Ad Absurdum” (and how come Blacks and Jews are the only ones who can make Holocaust or Slavery analogies?) from a non-statist position, it is never a far throw from government intrusion into medicine and some sort of systemic categorization of who is “worthy” and “unworthy” of life and vitality. Finally, if one lives within one’s means, one WILL always know prosperity, even in the midst of a recession/depression.

Melissa, I offer you this brilliant quote by Ayn Rand…
“The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities.”
When you tell me that I have to at gun point fork over my belongings, be they money or material things to you or anyone else, you are basically telling me that you have a right to be a thug or a thief or a user and abuser of me. Let us get something straight girl….you and all of those of your ilk, have absolutely no right to anything of mine or even that of others, for each single one of us is a minority, and minorities should always be protected, moreso than any group or freaking collective. So girl, wake up to this thing called rights…..where my rights begin as regards me and my possessions or my labor, your rights end. I would never dream in a thousand years that I have a right to your earnings or your material goods or your free labor to uphold me, so why the hell do you think you can claim that which is inherently mine? Please don’t do the democratic two step dance by refusing to be intellectually challenged…a gal without ovaries isn’t the most desirable thing around you know! Develop a pair poor dear! Karen is so right on when she says we fought for our freedom before and we will do it again….only a loser would say they had a right to lie, cheat and steal other’s earned or deserved goods, money or services.
It you really think that stealing is fine, then move to China…you will find that they excell in intellectual property theft bigtime, and better yet for you, a communistic umbrella covers all the butts of those who want a big brother/father figure to protect them…how sad is that, girl?

Steve, it makes me crazy that Americans do nothing but whine, bitch, beg, and complain because they have been TAUGHT that they are owed everything they don’t have or can’t afford. People have become so helpless, so inept, so whiny, so demanding, and they completely lack resourcefulness. These statements like “wait til you lose your insurance…..” get me pissed off.

Grow some balls, figure it out, and take care of yourself. People my age (and the younger ones are far worse) have zero ability to function on anything but automatic.

Those minorities with rights you speak of, do they include the government tended Native American Indians on the reservations? It seems that is how the Socialist/Facists of today see every American individual. From what I’ve read, the government determines the health situation of the Native American Indians, and it’s not pretty, ask them how they like government health care. Or are they not minorities, or even worthy of thought? The fate of the Native American is the fate of us all? What the government did to the Native American Indians is what they want to do to everyone?
