A New Jersey state lawmaker wants to make it a crime for drivers to touch the screen of a satellite navigation device in a moving vehicle. Earlier this month, state Assemblyman L. Harvey Smith (D-Hudson) introduced legislation to expand the state’s existing prohibition on using a cell phone behind the wheel. 

The control freaks appear to outnumber the rest of us. If you can’t use your GPS, well, it’s a sure bet that you’ll be more dangerous looking down at the printed Mapquest instructions that are sitting in your lap….

    Most people who enter government ‘service’ are motivated by power. The higher up the political/governmental food chain you go, the greater the craving for power.
    The few federal employees I knew well, all were intense busy-bodies who seemed to enjoy messing with other people’s life. My neighbor, who worked for the Dept of Energy in Chicago area, (please tell me what they do?) was in my house one day and scolded me about not being a recycler…..
