Another New Spin on Obesity

This article contends that the symptoms of obesity are “a group of diseases tied together by the symptom of too much body fat.” The researcher, Nikhil Dhurandhar, thus defines symptoms as a collective “disease” that brings forth more symptoms. Here’s a quote from the article about Dhurandhar, a ”researcher” and leader of The Obesity Society:

“It may look the same on the outside, but what triggers the condition varies from person to person and may require a different treatment to control,” he said. “Down the road, we need to figure out why people become fat and then tailor their treatment to address the underlying causes.”

The researcher is actually tying the presence of viral antibodies in the blood of individuals to obesity, thus completely sidestepping the causes of obesity while pushing for a “treatment” which, by definition, involves (profitable) medical intervention and pharmaceuticals. Then comes this stunning assessment:

Dhurandhar is quick to point out that he doesn’t believe most obesity is infectious in nature, but said that the discovery of a “fat bug” should be a wakeup call to researchers, physicians and anyone struggling with their weight that there may be more to shedding surplus pounds than simply cutting back on calories and putting in a few extra treadmill sessions.

That the terms “infectious” and “fat bug” even came up is almost remarkable. This guy has produced a mound of scientific trash that must be taken to the curb. Immediately.

Expend more calories than you consume and you will lose weight. Add exercise and you will have muscle tone. It works for both genders, all ages, all races. No secrets, nothing to buy. Just do it.
