Anarcho-Medicine: One of the Docs I admire most is Dr. Michael Janson of Arlington, Massachusetts. He is a pathologist by training, and he did his internship and residency at the fabulous Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He has written a few books, he writes for lay publications and journals, and he makes the rounds as a coveted public speaker. I discovered him about 10-12 years ago when he would often appear on a local libertarian talk show.

From his website:
Dr. Janson is past-president of both the American College for Advancement in Medicine and the American Preventive Medical Association, and he founded and directed the first complementary-alternative medical center in New England, in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1976. He is one of the best-known holistic physicians in the country.

In 1990, Dr. Janson founded the Center for Preventive Medicine, in Barnstable, on Cape Cod in Massachusetts, and directed it until 1999. He now consults with patients in Arlington, Massachusetts, providing counseling in nutrition, dietary supplements, exercise, stress management, wellness, personal growth, chelation therapy, and intravenous nutritional therapies.

Dr. Janson has a unique background with training in both conventional western medicine and alternative therapies.

Perhaps most interesting is the monthly newsletter he publishes that is ripe with alternative medicine, nutrition, and physiology topics. You can read them online in Adobe format here. Also, his book, Dr. Janson’s New Vitamin Revolution, is the single greatest source for the layman for building a personal nutritional supplement program.

I will be interviewing Dr. Janson for LewRockwell.com in the next couple of weeks.
