Adjectivey, Alliterations, Britishisms, and Loving the Thesaurus Too Darn Much: Couldn’t help but make fun of some of the more condescending writing styles that folks exhibit by writing my own Ode to the Thesaurus after returning from a trip to the West Virginia mountains. I can never figure out why it is supposedly chic to be esoteric, smug, and haughty. Stephan Kinsella points out such pompousness on his website with his Annoying and Pretentious Terms & Figures of Speech. Here’s my contribution to Thesaurus Whooping:
