Sunday, January 15, 2012Posted in category Economics
Hold on to your hats – a new way to reduce the government debt. The government should melt all gold coins and pay off its debt. No, this is not satire.

Not to worry…uncle sam will slam your 401K’s before they take the gold out of your teeth. Known fact that 401K’s are already in the eyesight of govt….and further, that these retirement vehicles will prove down the road to be one of the biggest scams pulled over Americans. Can’t we just be nice boys and girls and keep bending over and asking for more? NOT!

Ummm, wouldn’t that be “confiscation”?

Suzanne, indeed it is confiscation…..little know fact…hardly anyone I know ever reads that teeny tiny print put put by the FDIC in accounts.
If they did they would learn that in national emergenies, the gov’t can cabbage onto your savings accts, money market funds, CD’s and more, BUT they cannot touch your checking acct for that is considered cash.
Also, you can take out your money and no one will bother you, but just try to put in a couple thousand bucks everyday or other day, and watch cars pull up to your home….they do want to know where you are getting that money from. So don’t be thinking you can sock it away however you come into it, for agents will smell your tracks and hound you all the way.

Sure, but FDR already set the precedent for that. Given that he was able to get away with it back when Americans were arguably better informed and more zealously possessive of their rights than today’s dumbed-down sheepletards, it should be a snap for any current dictat, er, president to pull it off again.

Beyond the concept of “confiscation”, which clearly is how this bozo thinks, I don’t understand the point of the “melting them down”…aren’t they just as valuable, if not more so, in their form as coins? My favorite part of that article was the last sentence about how he was waiting for a response from President Obama and so far hasn’t heard from him. Not even Obama would grace that suggestion with a response!
